If you think you read this headline wrong. You didn't. Patrick Beverley is just that big of blithering idiot that he doesn't understand how basketball works. Yesterday, the Lakers played the Clippers at the Staples Center, with fans in building (not yet, coronavirus), and Showtime won one of its most important games of the season.

The Lakers have struggled against their neighbors this season, but last night against a full-strength team including Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and you betcha, Patrick Beverley they won. While the game is definitely the more talked about subject, it is not the most shocking. What is, is the post-game interview Patrick Beverley had where he called Lebron James, "easy to guard".

Please note that Lebron had 28 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds last night and was +7 on the night. Mr. Beverley's stats, you might ask? 2 points, 1 assists, 4 rebounds and was -16 in 26 MINUTES (insert fire, purple devil, and splash emoji). That is absolute garbage fire if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong though. Patrick Beverley is a good defender, and shown it against the Lakers for a few years now. I still personally remember when he locked Lonzo Ball down in his first game and held him to one bucket on the night.

But when you say these things, you are asking to get clowned on the internet. Honestly, it might have been a strategic plan to deflect questions about how BAD he was on the offensive end last night. That is the only thing that could possibly make sense in whatever alternate universe he is living in where less is more. I don't want to rant, but seriously Pat, have you ever thought YOU are the one that's easy to guard?

Just a thought from your local online sports blogger.
